This I started VNH out of a need to heal my eczema. I was diagnosed with eczema at a young age and tried many products to treat it, but nothing worked. It wasn't until I was studying for my doctorate that I learned about the power of botanical medicine and how to use it to treat various health conditions. Still, I wanted also to treat skin and hair conditions, so I began making formulas in my kitchen. I finally created a product that worked and treated my eczema using plants and ingredients that originate from nature. So, I made a small collection of hair and skin products intending to heal the scalp and skin microbiota using phytomedicine out of need and curiosity. From that, VNH was born!

VNH is different from other beauty brands because it operates from a preventive and healing ethos. Our primary intention is to heal at the root, incorporating nature, guided by ancestral wisdom, and using uncomplicated ingredients to restore and bring healing to skin and scalp conditions. We are interested in wellness and healing and bringing peace and ease to our customers by creating a product they can feel good about using. Having a spirit is one of our values, and is essential in operating VNH, and is one of the main differences from our competitors. We create intending to heal, restore, and consider the whole body and not just its parts in the journey to healing.

As a Naturopathic practitioner, my approach to beauty is distinctive and influenced by the six Naturopathic Medicine principles, which encompass 1) the healing power of nature ( we recognize the body's inherent ability to heal itself ), 2) identifying and treating the causes (we identify and remove the underlying causes of scalp and skin deficiencies), 3) do no harm (we only use natural, harmless, and non-invasive ingredients in our products and treatments), 4) Doctor as a teacher (we educate our customer and encourage self-responsibility for health), 5) treat the whole person (we take into account the physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental and social factors) and 6) a focus on prevention and overall wellness.
